Nocturnes: Intimate Shibari Salons at Daruma

Session 1: Kirigami & Tenshiko

For this performance, we’ve invited Kirigami & Tenshiko to pull you into a world of things you’re not supposed to see — hentai—kinky, dirty, or perverted—shibari stripped back to its core. A contemporary echo of old-school shibari shows — provocative, erotic, and unapologetically perverse — the kind of intensity that lingers long after the ropes are undone.

For obvious reasons, we’re limited in how much we can say about this on social media… so tell your friends ;)

A salon is not just a performance. We see it as a space to get cosy, interact with the community, and connect with the artists. We’ll be serving tea (and maybe mocktails) before the show, and staying afterwards for a discussion with the performers about the experience.

About Nocturnes

We believe that watching (and being watched) is an integral part of the shibari world. In many places, shibari voyeurs are as much a part of the scene as the people who practice it themselves. Watching can be powerful — not just for inspiration, but for the emotional journey the audience and performers go on together, and for the opportunity to understand the mindset of the artists involved.

But we also know that this kind of experience rarely translates well to larger audiences or noisy venues. For this reason, we’d love to make Nocturnes a regular event at Daruma. If you like this idea, we’d love to hear from you — and watch this space for more announcements.
