Nocturnes: Intimate Shibari Salons at Daruma
Session 2: Red Lily & Ziggi
Doors: 7:30pm. Performance: 8pm.
A private session, viewed by strangers. Layer by layer - undressing, exposing, revealing. A relationship of two people tying together for years, unfolding on the floor - and then, an opportunity to ask your burning questions.
In seeing other people play, we learn about our own tastes and desires. In this salon evening you will experience an intimate performance of shibari between Red Lily and Ziggi, where you are free to take notes, move around and observe closely. Then, after a short break, you will get to ask every question you want - and they will do their best to explain what just happened in front of your eyes.
About Nocturnes
We believe that watching (and being watched) is an integral part of the shibari world. In many places, shibari voyeurs are as much a part of the scene as the people who practice it themselves. Watching can be powerful — not just for inspiration, but for the emotional journey the audience and performers go on together, and for the opportunity to understand the mindset of the artists involved.
But we also know that this kind of experience rarely translates well to larger audiences or noisy venues. For this reason, we’d love to make Nocturnes a regular event at Daruma. If you like this idea, we’d love to hear from you — and watch this space for more announcements.
