The Rope Jam

  • Daruma Neukölln, Berlin (map)

The Rope Jam at Daruma takes place every Thursday, and welcomes shibari enthusiasts of all levels and backgrounds to practice, play, socialise, or just to watch others and get inspired!

Rope beginners and curious newcomers are super welcome, and you don’t need to come with a partner in order to attend.

We have a large and beautiful 100sqm room, with a huge suspension frame, bamboos, suspension rings, 10 Hashira, lots of tea and soft drinks, and a cosy chill out area.

Questions? Check our FAQ, or get in contact!

  • We are located on Karl-Marx-Str., in Neukölln, Berlin. We are right next to ubahn Grenzallee and a very short walk from sbahn Neükolln.

Exact details on how to find and enter the studio are emailed to you automatically when you register for the event.

  • Please arrive between 7pm and 7.30pm, after that the door will be closed, the doorbell will be silenced, and there will be a short introductory talk.

Details on what to do if you need to arrive later than 7.30, along with full details of how to find the space, are sent to you in the registration email when you sign up.

  • Regular: 10€ per person
    Supporter: 15€ per person
    Low income: 5€ per person

Please reserve a space using the booking system at the bottom of this page, and remember to cancel as soon as possible if you are unable to attend as this frees up space for anyone who might be on the waiting list.

The booking system does not take payments for this event—please pay in cash on the door according to what you can afford. We don’t ask for proof of low income, nor do we keep a record of who is paying what.

An important note about the waiting list for the jam
If you are on the waiting list you will receive an automatic email whenever someone who is registered cancels their place. The email will say something about having ‘1 minute’ to register before it’s offered to the next person. 1 minute is the minimum amount of time our booking system will let us set between sending emails. If we had the possibility to set it so that everyone was emailed at the exact same time, we would.
It does NOT mean that you only have one minute to sign up. The place will go to whoever reacts to the email first.
This isn’t a perfect system, but it is the fairest option available to us, without adding significantly to the workload for our team.
